Transparency and Trust
Our show is self funded and we share our revenue with the crew that brings it to life. We’ve workshopped solutions and gotten feedback to develop this system which allows our crew to see their compensation grow along with the show in place of a single upfront payment.
Revenue Distribution
Producers
Sarah and Shaun share 50% of the revenue that comes to Our Little World. Shaun is the lead editor for all episodes and the producer of the show, the podcast, and all content related to the program. With the show’s success, Shaun aims to make this a full time job.
Admin and Marketing
20% of our revenue is set aside for taxes, web hosting costs, and eventually travel expenses and production enhancements. Additionally, funds to advertise our show and grow our audience are taken from this portion of the revenue.
Crew
25% of our revenue goes into our Contractor Compensation Pool. Each time a contractor works with us, they receive a credit which lasts two years. Each quarter, the pool is paid out to contractors according to their share of the active credits.
Donations
We believe in giving back. 5% of all of our revenue is set aside to give back to causes that address needs in our community, particularly aimed at children and education.
As our show grows— and hopefully our revenue along with it— we will revisit our revenue distribution to make sure that things are being split fairly and that we can have the biggest impact on our crew and our communities.
