Our Little World AI Usage Policy

This policy applies to all producers, editors, writers, contractors, and freelancers working on the show.

Out of respect for our viewers, our creatives, and our planet, Our Little World does not use generative AI in any phase of producing the show.

The following are not permitted, under any circumstances, by anyone working on this show:

- Generative visuals: Using AI (e.g., Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Sora, or similar) to generate images, video, animation, thumbnails, b-roll, or any visual asset that will appear in the show.

- Generative audio: Using AI to generate music, sound effects, voiceover, or any audio asset that will appear in the show. This includes using AI to extend or edit a music assets.

- Concept and design work: Using generative AI to brainstorm, concept, or draft visual designs, logos, sets, thumbnails, or branding elements.

- Writing: Using AI to write scripts, outlines, episode ideas, segment structure, jokes, or dialogue, in whole or in part.

- Idea generation: Using AI tools (chatbots, generative brainstorming tools, etc.) to generate or shape episode concepts, angles, or story pitches.

This applies regardless of whether the AI-generated material is used as a final asset, a placeholder, a reference, or "just inspiration." If it touches the creative process or the final product, it's off-limits.

Permitted Uses

Non-generative, machine-learning tools that assist with technical processes but do not create new content are allowed. Examples include:

- Audio denoising or clean up

- Video rotoscoping, masking, or object tracking

- Upscaling or stabilization tools

- Auto-transcription for editing reference and subtitles

- Color-matching or noise-reduction tools

The distinguishing line: these tools clean up, isolate, or enhance material a human already created. They do not invent new material.

Anyone unsure whether a tool falls under this policy must ask a supervising producer before using it on the show.

This policy applies to all deliverables, including thumbnails, social cutdowns, and promotional material connected to the show.

This policy will be reviewed periodically as tools and industry standards evolve. Updates will be communicated to all team members.

Full disclosure: Satirically, AI was used to help create this outline, because it’s really silly that we have to take our precious time to write a policy about AI.
